'Kaatru Veliyidai' is ace director Mani Ratnam's new film which has gone to floors in Ooty. As the title suggests, the film will be a fresh romance entertainer starring Karthi and Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hyadari in lead roles. Young comedy actor RJ Balaji is playing a supporting character in this film.
Mani Ratnam's regular partners for Music- A.R. Rahman, Lyrics- Vairamuthu and Editing- Sreekar Prasad are on board for 'Kaatru Veliyidai'. The Isaipuyal and Kaviperarasu have already started working on the songs.
Noted Pan-Indian Cinematographer Ravi Varman will be teaming up with Mani Ratnam for the first time in this film. Sharmishta Roy is the prominent female crew member in this film and she will be heading the Art department.
'Kaatru Veliyidai' is being produced by Mani Ratnam under his Madras Talkies banner. Siva Ananth is the Executive Producer. Sri Thenandal Films banner will be involved in the distribution of the film once it is completed.
The first look poster has been released and the shooting has commenced in Ooty on July 7, 2016.
