Namadhu is the recently released Tamil-Telugu-Malayalam tri-lingual film that stars Mohanlal and Gautami in the lead roles under the direction of Chandra Sekhar Yeleti.
Mohanlal works as a supervisor in a super market and his wife Gautami is a home maker. They have a college going son, Viswant Duddumpudi, and a daughter Raina Rao who is a school student. All this four characters have four different stories but they all get sorted out at one juncture during the climax.
While eying for a promotion to meet out his increasing family expenses, Mohanlal has expressed his emotions so well. Fitting apt into the character, the Mollywood veteran has proved his experience but the Tamil language spoken by the actor has a heavy Malayalam accent than his previous films.
Gautami has portrayed the character of a middle class woman, who spends Rs 500 to get the provisions at the discount rate of Rs 100. She has portrayed her role perfect but the rich look in her costumes do not get along with the character's picturization.
Veteran actress Urvashi comes as the friend of Gautami and attracts the audience with her childish act. Even Viswant and Raina score better for their acting skills.
The director has narrated four stories in this film but failed to elaborate the rest other than Mohanlal's. The slow pace of the screenplay is a major draw back to this film and without any entertaining factors, the audience are not able to involve themselves with the movie. The dialogue adds strength to the screenplay.
Mahesh Shankar's music works are not that impressive. The songs and the BGMs, infact, pose a hindrance to the story's streamline. Rahul Shrivatsav's camera has brought down some colourful magic to the shots.
On the whole, Namadhu has less attraction.
