Heroine :Bindu-Madhavi
Director :Dharanidharan
Music : Siddharth Vipin
Cinematography : Raja Krishnan

Dharanidharan, who made his debut with Burma has executed dark comedy moments. In his second film, Jackson Durai, he tries to use his comedy strength along with spooky elements. The film has Sathyaraj, Sibiraj, Bindu Madhavi, Zachary, Karunakaran and Motta Rajendran in the lead roles.

Father and son, Sathyaraj and Sibiraj have collaborated for a movie after a gap of 10 years. The film is touted to be a horror comedy, but it has opened to mixed response. Siddharth Vipin has composed music for the film. The music of the film is decent, but the title song 'Hello Mr. Zamindar..', is the most interesting one. And the editing is done by Vivek Harshan.

Sathyaraj plays the role of a freedom fighter and American actor Zachary will be seen in the role of a British colonel, Jackson. Meanwhile, Bullet Satya (Sibiraj) comes to the ghost-haunted village and falls in love with Bindhu Madhavi, who is the village President's daughter. On the other end, her relative Karunakaran, expresses his desire to marry her. The girl's father throws a challenge to Satya and Karunakaran to stay in the haunted bungalow for a week. Who stays alive would marry Bindu Madhavi. What happens next forms the crux of Jackson Durai.

This film is a completely different attempt on how ghosts from the pre-independence era keep up the freedom struggle. Sathyaraj and Motta Rajendran’s dialogue delivery is the highlight of the film. The first half of the movie is good, however, the director has lost his plot in the second half of the film. He wants to tell some kind of story, wants to make you laugh, scream, but does not get it all that right. BGM has worked in favour of this film, but there are only few scary moments in the film.

Art design is mind-blowing and the cast has done a good job. Make up, visual effects and the director's willingness to use a reverse zoom when its needed and his style of detailing should be lauded. The disadvantage of the film is its poor screenplay and story line. Though the first half is entertaining, it does not keep up the momentum. Many scenes in the film looks forced and it falls flat on the horror part.

Jackson Durai is a film with comedy, but horror elements do not find a place in this multi-starrer.
