Thodari initially had an August 12 release date in light of the Independence Day holiday weekend along side Vikram Prabhu's Wagah directed by GNR Kumaravelan. However, it is now being reported across various sections of the media that the Dhanush film may arrive only a week later at theaters on August 19. An official statement is meanwhile awaited.
