'Oru Naal Iravil’ is a remake of the successful Mollywood blockbuster ‘Shutter’. The story is about a man’s hasty decision and the consequences there on.
Sekar (Sathyaraj) is a well-settled, respectable man who has invested on a commercial property near his house. Since he was working in Singapore for a long time, auto driver Suri (Varun) befriends him.

One day, Sekar spots his daughter with a random guy and assumes that they are in love. He immediately plans his daughter’s marriage and asks her to discontinue her studies as well. Sekar’s wife gets pissed with his attitude and fights with him. As a result, Sekar and few of his friends have a round of drinks in one of the vacant shops that Sekar owns.

Due to their inebriated state, the friends talk about women and illegal affairs. Tempted by the talk, Sekar tries to spend the night with Thangam (Anu Mol) whom he picks up in a bus stop. Suri locks them up in the vacant shop and goes to buy some food but unfortunately he is caught by the police for drunken driving.

What happens to Sekar after that night and how he faces the situation is the rest of the story.

Veteran actor Sathyaraj is known for his expertise and his acting speaks for itself once again. Yugi Sethu also makes a mark with his acting as usual and his dialogues are an added plus to the movie. Varun and Anu Mol have done immense justice to their roles.

Director Antony has done extremely well to portray the nuances in the story to the likes of the Tamil audience. Naveen Iyer’s music and S.S. Prabhu’s cinematography adds strength to the movie.
