Rumours started to flow in that Lyca has bought the distribution rights of the Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa from Vendhar Movies for a huge amount. Vendhar Movies have the theatrical rights of Lingaa for the entire Tamil Nadu, except Coimbatore, which have been bagged by Sukra Films.
With rumours about Lyca’s involvement in Lingaa, the media persons were frantically seeking a clarification from Vendhar Movies, Eventually, it was clarified that it is a baseless rumour and Vendhar Movies have made it clear that they will be releasing Lingaaon their own. The magnum opus, starring Rajinikanth, Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha, will hit the screens on December 12th, 2014.
